You hold your own wallet, and every action is a transaction you sign.

## Two ways to sign in

| Method | What happens | Best for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Email | Spout creates a Solana wallet for you, linked to your email login. You sign transactions in the app. | People new to crypto wallets |
| Existing wallet | Connect Phantom, Solflare, Backpack or another Solana wallet. On mobile you can connect with a QR code. | People who already hold assets on Solana |

One login is one account. You can link more than one wallet to your account, and your points from all of them add up in one balance.

## Network fees

Every Solana transaction costs a small network fee, paid in SOL to the network, not to Spout. It is usually very small. Keep a small SOL balance, such as 0.01 SOL, so you can always sign, including to repay a loan.

## Keeping your account safe

- Spout will never ask for your seed phrase or private key.
- Always check you are on app.spout.finance before you sign anything.

- Read what your wallet shows before you approve a transaction.
- If you use an email wallet, protect the email account with a strong password and two factor sign in.
