# Buying Stocks on Spout

You can buy any supported tokenized stock on the Buy screen, paying in USDC.

## Step by step

- Pick the stock Open it and choose Buy.
- Enter an amount Use dollars or shares.

- Choose leverage Leave it at 1x for a plain purchase. Above 1x, part of the purchase is a 0% loan and the stock becomes collateral. See Buying With Leverage.
- Review the quote The price comes from the issuer and is valid for a short time, about 30 seconds. If it expires, the app fetches a new one.

- Confirm in your wallet The purchase settles in one transaction. If anything fails, the whole transaction reverses and you keep your USDC.

## Where the stock goes

- **At 1x,** the tokens go to your wallet. You can hold them, send them, or deposit them later as collateral.
- **Above 1x,** the tokens go straight into your borrowing position as collateral.

## Prices and hours

The price you pay is the issuer's quoted price, which includes the issuer's own spread and any issuer charges. Spout adds no fee of its own. Buying follows the issuer's trading hours; the app shows when buying is available.
