The economics work because Spout is a two-sided protocol. On one side, lenders deposit stablecoins into a pool and earn yield on those deposits. On the other side, borrowers post tokenized equity collateral and draw stablecoins from that pool at zero interest. What pays the lenders and what frees the borrower from interest is the same thing: a covered call strategy that runs continuously against the collateral pool. The collateral does the work. The borrower does not pay interest because the protocol is already earning yield from the collateral itself.
