## Risk parameters

Every asset has the same 50% maximum LTV (loan to value). Each has its own liquidation threshold, set from how far the stock has gapped overnight in its trading history, and a penalty equal to the gap between 50% and that threshold.

| Ticker | Name | Liquidation threshold | Penalty | Room to fall from 50% LTV |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| GLD | SPDR Gold Shares | **54.1%** | **4.1%** | **7.5%** |
| PFE | Pfizer | **55.6%** | **5.6%** | **10%** |
| AAPL | Apple | **55.6%** | **5.6%** | **10%** |
| GOOG | Alphabet | **55.6%** | **5.6%** | **10%** |
| XOM | Exxon Mobil | **55.6%** | **5.6%** | **10%** |
| GS | Goldman Sachs | **57.1%** | **7.1%** | **12.5%** |
| NVDA | Nvidia | **58.8%** | **8.8%** | **15%** |
| IBIT | iShares Bitcoin Trust | **60.6%** | **10.6%** | **17.5%** |
| BSOL | Bitwise Solana Staking ETF | **60.6%** | **10.6%** | **17.5%** |
| SMCI | Super Micro Computer | **62.5%** | **12.5%** | **20%** |
| MSTR | Strategy | **62.5%** | **12.5%** | **20%** |

Room to fall is how far the price can drop from a position at the 50% maximum before liquidation starts.

## Why one maximum LTV but different thresholds

**Why one maximum LTV**: Everyone can borrow up to 50%, so every position starts with collateral worth at least twice the loan.

**Why different thresholds**: A volatile stock can gap further overnight than a steady one, so it gets more room before a sale starts. IBIT, BSOL and MSTR also carry weekend risk: the crypto they track trades through the weekend, but the funds and the stock only trade in US market hours, so a weekend move arrives as a gap at Monday's open.

**Why different penalties**: The penalty equals the asset's buffer, so it scales with risk: a more volatile asset costs more to liquidate, and its borrowers pay in proportion. A steady asset like GLD carries a 4.1% penalty; the most volatile carry 12.5%.

Thresholds are reviewed regularly, and immediately if an overnight gap uses more than 60% of the room between 50% and an asset's threshold, when an asset is added, or when an asset changes in a way that matters, such as a split or a change in what it holds.

## Adding new assets

New assets are added when they meet the same standards: a deep listed options market, a reliable price feed, an approved issuer whose token passes Spout's design checks, and a fit with the rest of the list. Each asset's cycle length and next expiry are shown in the app.
